The Mackay West Rotary Club was formed on the First October 1959 by Charter President, Col Story. Starting strong with 24 members the club now consists of 36 members of various background including professionals, executives and entrepreneurs. Since its formation the club has been volunteering and carrying out fundraising events throughout the Mackay Region.

Some of the organisations we support include Headspace, CQ Rescue, Camp Eagle and many more.

Our Rotary Club also serves as a great place to make new friends, learn new skills, network and share ideas. Adding to that, we have the pleasure of hosting some outstanding speakers, not just from our own city, but from around the world.

Australian Rotary Clubs are part of an international network of business, professional and community leaders who strive to make the world a better place through practical efforts. Through Rotary International, the reward of “paying it forward” unites men and women from different backgrounds, cultures, religious and political beliefs the world over, allowing ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Since 1905, Rotary has been making a positive impact in the world. Beginning in Chicago before spreading throughout the world, Rotary first touched our shores in Australia in 1921, with the charter of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, closely followed by the charter of a Sydney Club and other Clubs around the nation.

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
